Times’ photographer Mark Boster took some lovely images of Yosemite last fall for the Travel section’s Ultimate Guide to Yosemite. This one is of a moonbow, which occurs only when the full moon rises to the right angle to diffract the mist off the waterfall.
He also gives some tips on how to take more interesting photos of oft-documented destinations: macro lenses, pinhole cameras and long exposures.
Holy shit, moonbows actually exist?! I only heard of them in Honokaa Boy, and even then they weren’t explained right.
DAAAAMMNNNN I really wanna see one now.
